The Rosary:

Mysteries of the Rosary

Each mystery of the Rosary contains 5 decades.   The mysteries bring to mind and enable one to reflect on incidents in the life of Jesus and the Blessed Mother.   The Joyful Mysteries lead us to meditate on the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Nativity, The Presentation, and the Finding of Jesus in the Temple.   The Sorrowful Mysteries enable us to meditate on the Agony in the Garden, the Scourging at the Pillar, The Crowning with Thorns, The Carrying of the Cross, and the Crucifixion.  During the Luminous Mysteries, we reflect on the Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan, the Wedding at Cana. Jesus’ Proclamation of the Kingdom of God, the Transfiguration, and the Institution of the Eucharist.  Lastly, the Glorious Mysteries invite us to meditate on the Resurrection, the Ascension, the Descent of the Holy Spirit, The Assumption of Mary, and the Crowning of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth.
