The Church and Racial Justice: A Conversation in Truth and Hope

The Sheen Center, in partnership with the Office of Black Ministry of the Archdiocese of New York, will kick off programming in honor of Black History Month with a panel discussion on the Church’s complicated history regarding matters of racial justice as highlighted in the documentary “Facing an Uncomfortable Truth” produced by Mr. Steve Crump.

Panelists discuss the paths forward in light of today’s current social climate, including the implementation of equity and diversity initiatives, the role of Black Catholics and young people in the struggle for justice in the Church and society, and the controversial significance of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Moderator: Liz Faublas, Emmy-nominated anchor and award-winning producer, host, and author. She is also the founder & managing editor of the private literary company Million$Pen, Ink.
